Recognizing that health outcomes are created by inequitable policies and systems, we seek to effect change at both ends of the spectrum with values centered in equity, stewardship, partnership, innovation, and integrity through our grantmaking and community partnerships.
We seek to improve the systems that link those services and programs together – ideally in an efficient, coherent, responsive way. We help to enact “better” policy – both public policy and the policy of key institutions by changing political, economic, and social structures (and culture) in ways that expand who has access to resources, opportunities and power.
As a health foundation, we know that health disparities by race are pervasive and rooted in structural racism. We are surrounded by an overwhelming amount of data and evidence on inequitable health outcomes that does not need repeating. What is required for meaningful change is action.
From the beginning of the pandemic in March of 2020 through today, we have been focused on learning from the experiences of our partners and grantees and adapting our work to match needs. In July of 2020, we updated our Responsive Grants portfolio in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and widening racial and other health inequities.
We’d love to hear from you
